The wonderful team at WACS (Wildlife and Carer Support) and The Rescue Craft & Co generously donated a Brinsea TLC30 ICU and a Verterio S50 ICU to MWCEC. The group was also able to purchase two more ICUs thanks to our valuable supporters, so we are now more equipped for baby bird season and pinkie joeys.
An ICU provides a quiet, safe and a temperature-controlled environment. ICUs are useful in situations where animals are unable to adequately control their own body temperature, such as pinkie joeys and baby birds. Sick and injured animals may also struggle to maintain body temperature and become hypothermic (low body temperature) or hyperthermic (high body temperature).
